Hello Champions.
Today we’re going to talk about nettles. You know, those plants whose touch feels like a thousand tiny needles piercing your skin. Most normal children run from this prickly plant. We, wolf children… pick them with our bare fingers and make tasty recipes from them.
In our Dutch book, we made already made soup and delicious tea with them.
Nettles are the raw reality of nature, not that sugar-sweet coloured version you get from, say, a tulip. They are a reminder that not everything in life is comfortable and easy, and that’s okay. In fact, that’s how you learn. That’s how you grow.
However, nettles are not one-dimensional nightmares. They are rich in vitamins and minerals, and they can be super tasty, too.
Today, we’re going crunchy. Move over kale, we’re making stinging nettle chips!
What do we need:
– a handful of freshly picked nettles
– bowl of water
– a pan that can go on the stove
– coconut oil
– salt/pepper
